Some things I read online indicate macOS should have included drivers that work.but the device does not show up under /dev/ so I can't connect to it. The cable is fine as it works when I pass it through to a Ubuntu VM, it also works if I use the app 'Serial 2'. and no luck! I did notice when I try manually load/unload the kext for Prolific it complains about being an x86_64 binary, though I downloaded the universal binary (and the one I used in the past). I have tried disabling csrutil, manually removing/reinstalling the driver, etc. I have tried modifying the security settings in recovery mode to be more permissive, still not working. I tried installing the driver, I get the error message that it has been blocked but there is no option in Settings < Security to actually allow it to go through. I have an FTDI cable that I am using with an esp32 for development, and it is based on the Prolific PL2303 chip. Hey all, I am banging my head against the wall since this worked perfect in macOS Ventura.
